MOGO BreadLove
Make One • Give One Challah Bakes
A simple, meaningful way to gather people, bake challah, and give back—together.
What Is MOGO BreadLove?
MOGO stands for Make One, Give One.
MOGO BreadLove is a community-based challah initiative designed to help individuals, groups, and organizations come together to bake challah—and use that shared experience to give back.
You make challah together.
You make a loaf for yourself, and give loaves, funds, or both to a cause you care about.
You create connection, meaning, and ripple effects far beyond the kitchen.
BreadLove provides the framework.
You bring the people and the heart.
Who Is This For?
MOGO BreadLove is perfect for:
-
Community groups & organizations
-
Nonprofits & fundraising teams
-
Friends looking to gather with purpose
No prior baking experience required.
How It Works: Step by Step
1. Clarify Your Intention
Decide what your bake will support.
-
A food pantry or shelter
-
A nonprofit or cause
-
Your organization’s fundraising goal
This intention becomes the heart of your gathering.
2. Choose Your Format
Select what works best for your group:
-
In-person challah bake
-
Virtual / Zoom challah workshop
-
Fundraiser bake (a suggested contribution is $36 per participant)
3. Set the Basics
-
Date & time (60-90 minutes works well)
-
Group size (in-person size dependent on available space/AV equipment; unlimited group size online)
-
Location or Zoom link
-
Donation plan (loaves, funds, or both)
4. Invite Your People
Invite participants with a simple message:
-
What you’re doing (Make One • Give One)
-
What they’ll learn (hands-on challah baking)
-
What their participation supports
Keep it warm, welcoming, and uncomplicated.
5. Prepare to Bake
You’ll need:
-
Challah ingredients
-
Mixing and baking supplies
-
Bags and/or boxes for donated loaves
BreadLove can support you with:
-
A challah recipe + baking supplies recommendations
-
Timing guidance
-
Teaching tips
-
Optional live or recorded instruction
6. Host the Bake
During your gathering:
-
Welcome everyone and share the intention
-
Walk through the challah process step by step
-
Leave space for conversation and connection
-
Name the impact—who this bread or these funds will support
The goal is meaningful, this does not have to be perfect!
7. Make the Give
-
Deliver donated loaves
-
Send funds to the chosen organization
-
Share gratitude with participants
Optional (but powerful):
-
Take photos (with permission)
-
Share the impact story with your group
8. Close the Circle
After the bake:
-
Thank participants
-
Share where the bread or funds went
-
Invite others to host their own MOGO BreadLove bake
This is how the model grows.
